  1. Be able to select the correct piece of kitchen equipment to carry out specific food preparation tasks

  2. Be able to use the selected equipment safely

The learner can:

    • Select the correct knife to use to chop or slice fruit or vegetables
    • Select a peeler suitable for fruit or vegetables
    • Select a grater for cheese
    • Identify one electrical kitchen appliance that could be used to help prepare food
     

     

    • Use a knife safely
    • Use a peeler safely
    • Use a grater safely
    • Switch on and off a given  electrical kitchen appliance correctly
