Assessment criteria

What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome

The learner can:

    • Use a short phrase to describe what they can see
    • Follow instructions containing two key words eg. 'give me the basket'
    • Use photographs, symbols and/or words to describe a community visit they have undertaken
    • Match letters of the alphabet to words linked to the local community
    • Read and match symbols, pictures, words and multi media images which represent places in the local community
    • Look for specific items in a book or on a tablet linked to the local community and match objects, images and symbols
    • Follow signs, symbols and words to locate a place within a community venue eg. toilets, checkout
