What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome

The learner can:

    • Choose a suitable means of gaining information eg local newspaper, websites, local directory etc
    • Research at least three different types of shop in the local community
    • Scan text for specific information
    • Use a dictionary to establish word meaning
    • Use a writing frame to plan content of report
    • Punctuate report correctly using capital letters, full stops, commas and speech marks
    • Spell key words correctly
    • Proof read someone else's work and mark errors
