What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome
The learner can:
- Choose a suitable means of gaining information eg local newspaper, websites, local directory etc
- Research at least three different types of shop in the local community
- Scan text for specific information
- Use a dictionary to establish word meaning
- Use a writing frame to plan content of report
- Punctuate report correctly using capital letters, full stops, commas and speech marks
- Spell key words correctly
- Proof read someone else's work and mark errors
