What the learner needs to know, understand or be able to do
The learner will:
Be able to identify ways to communicate with others.
Be able to identify positive and negative ways of communicating with others.
Assessment criteria
What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome
The learner can:
- Identify at least three different ways to communicate; eg talking; texting; body language
- Identify an appropriate way to communicate with others in a number of different settings; eg nodding and smiling when meeting someone; texting a friend; answering a question in class
- Watch a role play and correctly identify the positive and negative communication used
- Demonstrate at least two positive ways of communicating with others
- Give at least two reasons why they should use positive communication
- Identify a consequence of negative communication
