The learner will:

  1. Be able to answer the phone and assist the caller.

  2. Be able to welcome people in-person to the building.

What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome

The learner can:

    • Pick up the phone to receive a call
    • Demonstrate how to answer a call appropriately
    • Listen and respond to the person on the phone
    • Be able to transfer the call or take a message, with support if needed
    • Welcome a visitor appropriately and find out why they are here
    • Ask the visitor to sign in and show them where they need to go
    • Let a staff member know they have a visitor, if appropriate
