The learner will:
Demonstrate that they know how to run up the stirrup irons.
Demonstrate that they have sufficient control over the horse or pony to successfully complete a movement or exercise.
Assessment criteria
What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome
The learner can:
- Show that they understand what stirrup irons are
- Understand and demonstrate how to run up the stirrup irons
- Show that they can walk, steer and halt the horse or pony
- Demonstrate the correct level of control of the horse or pony to complete a continuous sequence of walking, steering and halting of the horse or pony
- Show understanding and demonstrate skills required to complete a specific required movement or exercise such as changing the rein or circles on at least three observed occasions
