What the learner needs to know, understand or be able to do
The learner will:
Be able to read at least one simple sentence containing four to six words.
Be able to read at least two simple four to six word sentences and then answer multiple choice questions about them.

Assessment criteria
What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome
The learner can:
- Read a simple sentence, supported by visuals if necessary
- Rearrange a cut-up version of the sentence by placing the words in the correct order
- Read two simple sentences and respond to multiple-choice questions about them
- Answer two multiple-choice questions, each offering two answer options, based on the sentences read
- Answer two multiple-choice questions, each offering three answer options, to show comprehension of the sentences
