The learner can:

    • Listen to a two step instruction and follow it e.g. get your shoes and put them on; go to the toilet and wash your hands
    • Answer questions that are asked about a story they are reading/have read e.g. Do you like....? What did you think of....? 
    • Hold a short conversation with an adult or fellow student e.g. How are you today? I am fine thank you
    • Use two means of communication linked to the world of work e.g. telephone, interview, over the counter in a shop
