What the learner needs to know, understand or be able to do

The learner will:

  1. Demonstrate preferences to recycled materials.

  2. Demonstrate an awareness of  materials used, to create items for environmental improvements. 

Assessment criteria

What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome

The learner can:

    • Demonstrate likes and dislikes for recycled materials using individual forms of communication
    • Spend time exploring the properties organic and non organic materials for example soil and recycled bottle tops
    • Show responses demonstrating an awareness of tactile media relating to the creation of items to improve environments for example bird feeders, plant pot scarecrows and wind chimes
    • Show responses demonstrating an awareness of visual media relating to the creation of items to improve environments for example bird feeders, plant pot scarecrows and wind chimes
    • Make at least two eco friendly items for the outdoors; for example bird feeders, plant pot scarecrows and wind chimes
