The learner can:

    • Select an appropriate item for upcycling based on an understanding of materials and their suitability
    • Create a plan to upcycle an item
    • Identify the correct tools required
    • State how the selected tools will be used safely in the process of upcycling 
    • Select the correct safety equipment needed for the project
    • Follow health and safety rules in the workshop
    • Appropriately prepare item by sanding and ensuring it is free from loose materials
