What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome

The learner can:

    • Add an appropriate amount of cold water to a kettle
    • Turn the kettle on to boil
    • Recognise when the kettle has boiled
    • Pour an appropriate amount of water in a suitable vessel safely with suitable support, e.g. into a bowl for Super Noodles, into a cup for Cup of Soup
    • Stir the food as appropriate safely
    • Point out the dangerous parts of a kettle
    • Point out the dangerous parts of a pan and hob
