Learning outcomes
What the learner needs to know, understand or be able to do
The learner will:
Be able to understand a plant’s lifecycle.
Be able to experiment with different growing conditions.
Assessment criteria
What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome
The learner can:
- State the five stages of plant lifecycles
- Write a simple explanation of each stage
- Plant a seed and tend to it
- Take photos of the stages of its lifecycle and create a poster to display findings
- Find out the optimal growing conditions for at least two different types of plants eg a flowering plant and a vegetable
- Carry out an experiment that tests the impact of changing one of the following variables (e.g., light, soil, water)
- Repeat the experiment and change a different variable
- Record and present findings to peers
- Identify appropriate growing conditions around the centre grounds
