Assessment criteria
What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome
The learner can:
- Accurately identify a screwdriver and a hammer from a selection of woodworking tools
- List at least three key safety measures to follow when using a screwdriver and a hammer, such as wearing safety goggles and ensuring the work surface is secure
- Demonstrate how to apply controlled, appropriate force when using a screwdriver to tighten or loosen screws and when using a hammer to drive nails
- Check the stability of the easel during assembly and make adjustments to strengthen it if necessary
- Ensure all components of the easel are securely joined, checking for any looseness in the screws or joints
