Learning outcomes
What the learner needs to know, understand or be able to do
The learner will:
Understand that there are other countries and that they have different cultures
Use basic vocabulary to communicate in the language of the chosen country
Assessment criteria
What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome
The learner can:
- State the name of the country being learnt about
- Take an active part in preparing for an event that celebrates the culture of another country, such as cooking food, making decorations
- State at least 3 environmental factors that are different e.g. different music, foods, smells, clothing
- Recognise and understand 2 simple key words and/or phrases in the relevant language (e.g. hello, how are you?, goodbye)
- Use the key words and phrases in the relevant language during the event
