What the learner needs to know, understand or be able to do
The learner will:
Know what items of clothing and equipment are needed to take part in canoeing.
Be able to manoeuvre a canoe on flat water.
Assessment criteria
What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome
The learner can:
- Identify appropriate clothing needed for canoeing
- Identify specialised equipment needed for canoeing eg buoyancy aid, paddle
- Enter and exit a canoe safely
- Perform the following essential canoe paddle strokes on at least two occasions,
- Forward paddle
- Draw stroke
- Pry stroke
