Assessment criteria
What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome
The learner can:
- Identify at least four activities that can raise the heart rate eg running, sports, dancing, going on a roller coaster, skateboarding
- Identify at least four activities that can lower the heart rate eg watching TV, stroking a pet, having a bath, having a chat with a friend, breathing deeply, stretching, grounding
- Explain at least two examples of interactions with other people that may increase their heart rate eg when somebody scares them, when they become angry with someone, when they are feeling excited around people
- Explain at least two techniques that can help them to lower their heart rate eg mindfulness, grounding, counting, breathing deeply, stretching, moving calmly
