What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome
The learner can:
- Follow the staff modelling of how to tie a single figure of eight knot and a double figure of eight knot and one other knot
- Demonstrate how to tie a single figure of eight, a double figure of eight and one other knot independently
- Make two suggestions about where best to place the shelter
- Follow health and safety guidance when constructing the shelter
- Work as part of a team to securely attach the ropes to the tarpaulin using a closed loop of para cord, a pebble and a tent peg
- Work as part of a team to securely attach the ropes to their chosen fixed points
