The learner can:

    • Plan and prepare one hot snack they would like to eat
    • Identify the items of equipment needed to prepare their chosen hot snack
    • Follow basic safety rules to ensure that food preparation is safe and outline the impact of not keeping the kitchen clean when cooking
    • Identify risks when preparing and handling hot food
    • Wash up, clear away and tidy the work area
    • Choose one hot drink they would like to prepare
    • Identify the items needed to prepare their chosen hot drink
    • Identify the risks involved in handling hot drinks
    • Safely make a hot drink, on at least two occasions
    • Clear away and tidy the work area
