What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome
The learner can:
- Plan and prepare one hot snack they would like to eat
- Identify the items of equipment needed to prepare their chosen hot snack
- Follow basic safety rules to ensure that food preparation is safe and outline the impact of not keeping the kitchen clean when cooking
- Identify risks when preparing and handling hot food
- Wash up, clear away and tidy the work area
- Choose one hot drink they would like to prepare
- Identify the items needed to prepare their chosen hot drink
- Identify the risks involved in handling hot drinks
- Safely make a hot drink, on at least two occasions
- Clear away and tidy the work area
