What the learner needs to know, understand or be able to do
The learner will:
Demonstrate an awareness of the demands of having a baby.
Show an awareness of keeping baby safe in the home.
Assessment criteria
What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome
The learner can:
- Identify a way in which having a baby can be demanding for new parents, using visual supports as required
- Identify a source of support for new parents using visual prompts
- Identify three material things that a baby needs
- Demonstrate how to hold a baby safely
- Identify three safe practices in the home, eg using a stair gate, using plug covers
