The learner will:
Set up a new track to create a piece of music, showing knowledge of structuring this piece of music correctly.
Find and import a sample to be used in the piece of music.

Assessment criteria
What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome
The learner can:
- Demonstrate setting the track to a tempo of choice, or as indicated by the imported samples
- Set up a metronome to ensure they keep time (use as required)
- Explain the structure of this tune considering the intro, verse, chorus, outro and ending
- Choose their instruments and add them to the appropriate channels
- Check each channel has sound and the instruments can be heard
- Explain how and where to find samples
- Demonstrate importing a sample and bringing it in to the production
- Demonstrate how to set the speed of the sample by using the tempo on the track, or the stretch tool in the DAW
- Save the sample into the piece of music
- Demonstrate how to add effects and adjust the volume of the sample
