What the learner needs to know, understand or be able to do
The learner will:
Explore different art media, tools and textures with any of their five senses and make choices of what they would like to use to create their artwork.
Assessment criteria
What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome
The learner can:
- Use either touch, sight, smell or hearing to explore different art media including paint, clay, paper, material, plastic, glue, chalk or water
- Use either touch, sight, smell or hearing to explore different art tools including brushes, sponges, stamps, stencils, moulds, rollers or sprays
- Make choices independently of colours or materials to use for their artwork
- Accept support from a familiar adult to participate in art skills such as painting, drawing, sculpture, printing or photography
